CREWAFF 2009 HELD


As Ghanaians celebrated  and honoured our farmers during the just ended National Farmers’ Day celebrations on the 4th of December, 2009,  Youth Bridge Foundation in collaboration with Hop Inn FunHouse organized the Creative Writing, Art & Family-Fun Festival (CreWAFF 2009) under the theme, “Sustaining our environment through Creative Writing, Arts & Family-Fun Festival” for  kids.  The event was organized to instill in kids the need for environmental sustainability through a fun filled atmosphere.

CreWAFF 2009 attracted kids from various schools in Accra with parents joining in the fun.  The event started off with an opening prayer followed by the opening remarks and a radio message on the need to sustain the environment. There were poetry recitals on the environment after which children between the ages of 8-12 entered into an arts competition in appreciation of the environment. Kids were asked to draw/paint to represent their environment.  The fun and games started afterwards amidst music.
Younger kids played in the Bouncy castles, had musical chairs, hop scorch, twister, watched kiddy movies etc. Whereas the older kids engaged in football, bowling, scrabbles, monopoly, trivial pursuit, spider man checkers, pick and act as well as computer games.
The event was finally sealed with a dance challenge and the presentation of prizes from our sponsors to the winners of the various competitions held.
As we draw closer to the end of 2009, Youth Bridge Foundation looks forward to a much bigger and fun filled CreWAFF in 2010.
