The “SPINTEX BRIEF” is a communication initiative of Youth Bridge Foundation, a non-for-profit organisation with high commitment to social responsibility, community and youth development. Pursuant to this orientation, the Foundation established in a baseline study, that there is no clear-cut communication platform within our communities ostensibly designed and targeted at the citizenry and companies in and around the communities.

Youth Bridge Foundation, therefore, conceptualized and initiated the publication of community based journals as a critical tool in “bridging” the information gaps of our communities and the building of healthy community movements as one big family. As Information, Education and Communication (IEC) material, the publication seeks to preserve our cultural heritage, advocate for respect and tolerance of our cultural diversity and promote behavioral change.

At the end of our 4th Edition, our pilot project, SPINTEX BRIEF - Free Community Journal has acclaimed the recognition for its valuable content management, quality output, unique packaging and gained the desired impact and enormous interest both within and outside the Spintex Community.

We maintain that the family unit, in Ghana’s cultural context, is and must be deemed as critical component in community development. Our research has shown that the globalization phenomenon has caught up with the Ghanaian youth. Today, the youth are mindful and particular of the place, position and role of the family in the development and sustainability of our communities. The family, thus, cannot be overlooked as the first point of socialization in securing the safety and peace of members of our communities, and for the growth and development of the Ghanaian youth.

For our mainstream phase, Youth Bridge Foundation seeks support:

1. To scale up the SPINTEX BRIEF publication in a very fast growing community
2. To initiate TEMA BRIEF, AKWAPIM RIDGE BRIEF, SAVANNAH BRIEF (for Northern Region) and other parts of the country
